Home is where Microtel is in exciting Boracay Island

I was introduced to Microtel Inns and Suites in summer of 2004. It was not in Boracay but in Baguio City where my friends and I decided to spend a weekend break. It is Microtel’s proximity to major roads and accessibility to Victory Liner that convinced us to book.

Generally, our two-day stay was pleasant; the cool climate was perfectly set off by the warm accommodation.

And it was all six years ago. These days going on a vacation is a little lavish considering the high spending associated with our daily living however for me it is essential that once in a while we take a break from the metropolitan to loosen up.

And the way I see Boracay from photos and forums, it is the absolute destination, a traveler’s paradise you may call.

Getting to Boracay Island is not the usual 12-hour bus ride I am used to when traveling up north; it requires a 40 minutes plane ride, 90 minutes bus trip and another 30 minutes boat ride.

The plane ticket alone is a bit heavy on the pocket, so, getting a decent hotel is another big challenge.

Discovering Microtel Inns and Suites is a real value for your money. They provide affordable and competitive rates without sacrificing the quality of service, which is by the way, designed to cater both business and leisure travelers.

As first timers to Boracay would be, definitely, I would go for comfort and Microtel being known for consistently providing this impression would be my choice. For somebody like me who detest the usual action-packed night scene, Microtel’s ideal location at Station 1 will surely offer peace and quite accommodation.

At daybreak, the much wider Diniwid Beach would be great for morning strolls with less beach goers. Privacy would relatively much felt here.

I would totally enjoy the relaxation of window seating on late afternoon and getting the best view of the blue waters, the sunset and the people as they do their things. For me, this is the best opportunity for life’s reflection while doing a quick post of the breathtaking happenings at the scenic island Boracay.

And ending the night with the smell of fresh linens with equally comfortable healthy-for-the-back chiropractic beds guarantees a peaceful good night sleep.

Like I told you, I have not been to Boracay and I will not settle for anything less neither anything so luxurious, so, definitely I would put Microtel on my list for that comfort and intimacy of hotel living available at such great-value. Those eight years in a row recognition is evidence of being the finest when it comes to guest satisfaction. This is my second time to dine at H&E and this is our, Oliver and I, first dinner here together. You see if Oliver kept on saying how picky, I am these days, the more he is. Anyway, I must be followed di ba hon?? hehehe…

During that November dinner with my sister, I left the ordering part everything to her. And this time without her, I thought I could come up with a new set, so, I really tried but I ended up getting the same plates of pasta and deep-fried seafood bounties.

This is the same appetizer Che and I had, perhaps this one would be a favorite from now on.

Shrimp Pasta in Saffron Cream Sauce

It was a lot creamier this time, and I love it especially the shrimps. I gave two thumbs up for this one and I hope the creamy sauce would be consistent.

This time I saved some space for the sweet something and Oliver had this for me.

We shared the big slice of this mousse cake that concludes our dinner date.

Though prior going to Ayala Center I was telling Oliver that we should try 8065 Bagnet, the place was jam packed so we drive away. And made the right decision this time, I love, love the creamy pasta.

It's Friday once again and tomorrow is the start of another long weekend away from work…yehey! Though the announcement was kind of late to plan anything, at least I would have plenty of time lazing around.

I wanted to drive home to Cavite but for sure, Oliver would say no, so, never mind I will not insist anyway. I created a short to-do-list this weekend to guide my tickly foot…

Shop a little: Maybe I will give Greenhills Shopping Center a visit over the weekend or a possible trip to Pasig at the Gingersnaps Sale :)

Dine somewhere: I would love to try Ristras for their heavily filled Mexican Burrito or Frazzled Cook for their Seafood Paella

Give Bea a walk: Planning it on Sunday night at Boni High, I will not tell our little girl yet oh, I mean big. because she may got too excited. For now, let's keep it a secret :)

That would be for now unless something more interesting and feasible comes along over the weekend.

Grace Bldg. on Fire!

Last Monday during lunch break, I was one of the many who went running our way out of our office building to avoid suffocation. There was fire just besides our office building, which prompt everyone to vacate the workplace. Imagine, during the holy hour of our lunch break when everyone is taking lunch at the pantry and the rest was taking a short nap, some really panicked and some remained calm until the fire was put under control.

By the way, the commercial building that was on fire was Grace Building, which is a driveway away from Limketkai. Thank God, there was no casualty.

Who wouldn’t get excited when a box full of goodies was delivered to your doorsteps? C’mon, do not tell me you wouldn’t mind at all.

Well, Oliver and I would always be excited receiving balikbayan box from his brother, who is Canada based.

This time aside from us, who else got that total excitement, our Bea went on sniffing all the goodies. What she got?

A tennis ball, which Oliver handed her right away.

Take a peek of what we had,

coffee, coffee and more coffee, didn’t I tell you my husband’s family is such a coffee lover too.

And this is the coffee for me, my choice my blend!

I love the eeezeee grip bottle, something that is reusable. My mother in law would definitely reuse these containers with her homemade fish sauce.

and a few packs of chocolates to share. Manong is not a big chocolate fan; I hope he soon realizes how chocoholic we are :)

Oliver and I got a bottled of Oliver’s favorite lotion scent too, yes it’s vanilla.

The rest of the box contained a used speaker, which will be sent to Ilocos and some few used clothing and bags. By the way, we normally include those used stuffs on our garage sale, so, we make little earnings out of it.

We are bound to receive another box full of goodies by end of May and then I need to do a list of bilin before Manong’s scheduled visit to Manila this July.

For now, thank you Manong for these bounties!

Izakaya dining experience

After Tokyo Tokyo introduces bento meals and Sumo meals now come the newest fast-casual Japanese dining place in town. Located at the Ground Floor of Glorietta 5 is Tokyo Tokyo Metro.

Tokyo Tokyo Metro's dintict difference from the old Tokyo Tokyo is the izakaya culture.

An izakaya (居酒屋?) is a type of Japanese drinking establishment which also serves food to accompany the drinks. The food is usually more substantial than that offered in other types of drinking establishments in Japan such as bars or snack bars.

They are popular, casual and relatively cheap places for after-work drinking.

TTM’s best offering are the yakitori, ramen, donburi, seafood bento and japanese rice wine.

Our set during that casual dinner with ex-Piltel friends,

California Maki is a must order for me and serves as always my appetizer when dining Japanese.

Donburi (tonkatsu), this savory pork stew on rice was tummy filling and tender. The meal can be shared.

The meal was served with this veggie with a mild dressing.

Surf n Turf is a bento box with prawns, beef, california maki, veggies and a jelly dessert, which was also served with miso soup and rice. I find this one a bit expensive.

We ordered two Surf n Turf bento so we would not fight over this shrimp serving, yum!

My old time favorite red iced tea was bottomless this time, which kept me lively while the boys enjoyed beer at a very affordable price.

Overall the dining experience is okay. Good food combined with good friends is something I always look forward.

These days meeting with old friends happens instantaneous. Like last, last Friday I had the chance to go out with ex-Piltel friends again. This time the invitation came from a distant colleague, MPJ who recently had her birthday. Another long time friend J showed up with his wife, G was there too however the older G failed to make it for some good reasons :)

It was a very casual night for all of us enjoying the subtle music at this Makati establishment. I had to say I miss occasions with them; I missed Gem and J’s tandem of kulitan every time they will get together. Needless to say, it was like the old times. It was like those Tagaytay days of digesting labor laws and drowning Tequila night’s of course.

How about line like this, “Accounting din ako” says J; “Ay di halata” says accountant G.

Funny but until this day they would poke fun at each other to death, creating that get-up-and-go atmosphere anywhere and anytime.

I was carried away again, folks and that is very understandable every time I had the chance to talk about what was there back then.

Anyway, the celebration was simple. We all enjoyed the casual-Japanese food experience + a little debate of whom or who should get our votes...

The boys enjoyed most the cheap beer at NO service charge. We ended the night early because MJP still observe Cinderella clock, hehehe.

Shortly after 2 days, I am back to work without worrying about much of datelines this time. I will be back to my normal blogging activity (this includes blog hopping too) and every day journal anytime soon. I am back to joining online forums and online shopping as well.

After 48 days, finally I am ready to plan about that weekend get-away or that beach bumming bonding. Summer is not over yet and there is so much more to see!

After my sister’s bargaining last night, finally we were able to book the sound system today for Sunday.

The supplier would be J.S. Mina Sound System, which is owned by Che’s classmate in high school, Gerry Pinpin.

The white wedding dress was a symbol of wealth. Because the
dress could not be washed or reused for other occasion, it was evidence that the
bride's family could afford to spend money on an extravagant dress.

Through much of the early 20th century, only a rich woman
could afford to wear a white wedding dress; most women still wore dresses in
various colors. Others wore white dresses which they would dye another color
after the ceremony, so that it could be used for other occasions.

The white wedding dress is typically used as a symbol for
virginity. However, the color white is also associated with innocence and
happiness. Over time, as women from all stages of life are wearing white to
their wedding, the white wedding dress has lost the connotations of virginity,
and is merely associated with a new bride.

These days wearing of white, wedding gown is just a choice of most brides, which is my thinking of course…hehehe. My cousin, Irish will be a wearing a white traje in bridal satin with bead works and she requested a longer trail to have that prinsesa effect…lol!

Divi designer copied this design and after some minor repairs, I hope by this time the bride had already made a trip to the dry cleaning shop. Three more days to go before the big day!

Could you imagine how envy my Bea is…hay! She kept on barking all the time Shen was playing around during the photo shoot :)

On Saturday night after the hair and make-up trial and after feasting on ginataang alimasag at home, we went our way to Tagaytay City and chill out until past midnight.

The best way to unwind during a long weekend, hay!

hehehe, we frequent Junzi because of him --Manny, not the boxer but the singer!

I hope we could do this every weekend, and I hope work would always be like four times a week only...lol!

Wedding Update (6): Panganiban-Villa

Saturday, we had another trial make up at a local salon at the town plaza. Though I have already set in mind that our last resort would be Barbie, which is by the way my stylist I tried it to Che’s recommendation.

Bebot is the hairstylist, whom Che had known through her classmate and friend Jodie way back from high school. I was hesitant at first because I find his work too slow, but later on convinced that he had this we were all looking for! We immediately booked him after deciding overnight.

By the way, we skipped the pre-nup shoot since video editing will take some time. Catering was so, so… we left the decision to Irish and family.

We still have small details to prepare before the big day and I am crossing my fingers everything would be smooth on April 18.

Wedding Update (5): Panganiban-Villa

What greeted me on Friday morning was this statuette at Sta. Cruz, Manila. The purpose of that early doings, Oliver and I have to meet Irish and Joel to help them buy their wedding band. Since I have a “suki” at the gold and jewelry area haggling for the lowest price was not too hard. After some time bargaining, the engraving went on and we left Ongpin.

Our next stop that day was Ayala Center. Things to buy: comfortable cocktail dress for Irish after the wedding, wedding shoes and wedding favors for the principal sponsors. Though it was tiring going around back and forth at The Landmark, Glorietta and SM Makati we bought everything on our list and happily drove home with the couple on Friday night to Cavite.

Finally today, photo and video coverage was already booked. The scouting took me two weeks, budget was a real challenge!

Thank you to Neo Samuya for the discounted rates and assurance that the quality of work will not be sacrifice given the revised package. I am planning to meet with him on Saturday to discuss photography style before the big event.

It was February of 2000 when I first stepped at Limketkai applying for some clerical position. I was jobless then and all I have in mind is to land somewhere; and make new beginnings after the telecom scam-merging-buy-out issue from previous employment.

The employment process went on another month and finally when MTR, my former boss and mentor, interviewed me I thought she would not get me at all. There was no connection and I felt empty after the interview, there was no hope that moment. A week after, I was told I was hired. That made me jumps a little because I badly needed a job. Before Holy Week of that year, I went on my first day at ICS and from that day on my life became different.

Ten years flies so fast and today I was surprised to receive an appreciation note from the President.

After all the happenings yesterday, I am considering The Metro Dog Run 2010 again though I had already scrapped that event from my calendar weeks ago. I do not want to waste time by being idle for no reason at all.

I have cancelled my hair treatment at Mary Pauline, which Oliver had scheduled tomorrow too so I expect a better perspective in exchange of that break.

Easter Egg Hunt, our style

A day before we head home for the Holy Week my sister, Che bought colorful plastic eggs, which will be used on Easter Sunday. There would be a small game for the kids, Easter Egg Hunting of course!

The eggs were filled with chocolates in colorful wrappers. I bet even my Bea would be excited to join too.

Finally, when my sister, Che announced the game on Saturday night Sam and Pao cannot contain the excitement. Sam on her excitement went to bed early or it is because she was tired because of our activity that day too.

As early as 8am the hunting begun, Che’s gave clues on where to find the eggs.

She discreetly hides it on seat covers, on shoe rack and on my mother’s display vases.

Pao even made use of his Jack O ’Lantern during the egg hunting. It was so much fun!

And envied the kids when it is time to open the eggs, she didn't get any...

One by one the kids open the Easter eggs, and what’s more exciting aside from the goodies are the add-on notes.

It says “Claim P100.00 to Lola” , then it had also notes that says, “Claim to Ninong…, Claim to Daddy… and Claim to Mommy…” . Ninang was exempted this time, hehehe.

Pao got the most number of eggs with add on notes and happily shared the chocolates to everyone.

All of us went to evening mass and drive back to Manila just before midnight. That was our Easter Sunday.

Bake and Churn invades my hometown

I remember my childhood, there was no single fast food chain then but these days Sam and Pao enjoys Jollibee. Moreover, Goldilocks bake goodies are readily available too.

And now that Indang is considered as a second-class municipality, more and more establishments are building up at the town plaza.

Still it come a surprise finding this Bake and Churn franchise store at the heart of the town plaza. It was during Oliver’s birthday last January when we had our first taste of this ice cream cake. He received it as a gift and among the many round we received that day, B&C cake was our bet simply because it was new to our palate.

Anyway, the taste test happened last Saturday after that make-up trial appointment.

What we had,

Irish had a slice of Ube Classic P58.00; I presume this one tastes like Ube…hehehe

Che had a slice of Rocky Road P58.00, did not have the opportunity to taste it. Che gave it away to our Lola Ina.

And I had a slice of Strawberry Cheesecake P58.00; though this one did not have that cheesy effect, it was not bad at all.

We had Black Forest ice cream scoops too to cool down, and cost is at P30.00 only. As of this writing I am craving for it, that would be all perfect for the hotness right now.

Wedding Update (3): Panganiban-Villa

During last year’s Black Saturday, we were hitting the crowded beach of Matabungkay and it was all fun even if we made a daytrip only. This time we chose to stay close to home the entire Holy Week and spent most of this vacation preparing the resources for Irish and Joel’s wedding.

Next on our to-do-list was the trial make-up. Though I had my personal choice of hairstylist for weddings, I consider the locals this time because of proximity and availability. My sister, Che recommends Joy, whom she frequent at Indang. After a few discussions on the style of make up, Joy started the make over.

I asked for the nude make up, which is necessary for brides.

Che appealed to have the eyebrows a little lighter for the soft effect.

And the lips to a lighter shade too, no dark colors please…

Overall, the make up is okay. However, was not satisfied of the imaginary hairstyle because he said I know that hairstyle already. My hairstylist Barbie cannot compromise that one thing especially during trail make-ups. Anyway, we have this week to decide.

We stayed home the entire morning and skipped meat during meals. In short, the whole family abstains from what is being asked today. Late afternoon, we drive to Tagaytay but not to dine, not to sip a cup of coffee neither lazing around Summit Ridge or somewhere else. We pay the Pink Sisters convent a visit. I don’t exactly remember the last time I went there and I don’t even remember the petition I had before. It felt good to be back after so many years.

This time I had my petition again and I wished they will come in my way soon, sabi ni Sam come true daw, maybe it was what she wrote on her petitions…lol!

We also visited Angel’s Hills and said our prayers. Then off we went home. Good Friday this year is definitely different from the previous years Oliver and I had. I missed the Ilocos road trip but given all the blessings, I guess Holy Week is the time to be content on whatever we have and enjoying right now.

Wedding Update (2): Panganiban-Villa

We, Oliver, Che and Bei, arrived at our house in Cavite past lunch yesterday, which is Maundy Thursday. It is because we woke up late and it is because traffic at Aguinaldo Highway was unbearable this time again. We immediately had lunch and waited for the sun to cool down in the afternoon. We were supposed to do Visita Iglesia but eventually call off because I need to deliver the wedding invites and start creating the wedding favors. Aside from those wedding planning activity, Oliver would be going home to Ilocos in the evening for some family errands.

So, just before sundown we, Nanay, Arman, Che, Oliver, Sam and Paolo, went to Alulod. I passed on a single invite to everyone who was there for them to see and comment (?) about the design or the entourage conceivably. No violent commentary this time, good!

Sam, Tita Josie, Tita Bebot and Tita Gie helped in doing the wedding favors. It was all simple, no extra creativity or energy needed so far except that my Tita Bebot, the soon to be mother of the bride liked a more colorful ribbon, which I skipped from using.

I opted to use cool shades to balance the heat of summer while this wedding in on going. By the way, inside the bayongs are wooden fan in pinks and yellows.

The bride to be is getting bigger these days, God! I hope she would still fit on her wedding dress in two week’s time. And I think she needs a little practice on smiling radiantly and candidly…hay! It is time to polish the rough edges girl!

Over the weekend, we are doing a small pre-nup shoot. I hope to get good angles and good colors by then.

megamall-ing

After the early cut-off of work last Wednesday afternoon, I met up with my sister, Che at Megamall instead of going to Ayala Center as I originally planned that day. Like, I told friends I never like going to Megamall merely because it gets me tired going around from Bldg A and B. Anyway, I am already there so no sense to complain. I went through the dresses at SM Department store looking for something wearable for my cousin, Irish wedding.

So, you think this one is okay enough.

I somehow like the detail of this little black dress; the simplicity makes this one a standout.

Unfortunately, they do not have my size…sigh! I went home empty, hopefully they have my size in SM Makati and I had better check it soon.

After a few rounds, Che and I went to some shoe store.

We spotted this, dainty, white sandals. This would be perfect for Friday wear!

It was not really my day :( it is the last pair and it was Che’s size. She instantly bought it.

I am starting to feel sick this time, last week pa kase yan! Che would always end up with a good bargain…Lord, do not make me spend lavishly this time please.

Then, it took us almost an hour at the taxi stand before finally our turn came. Can you imagine the boredom I had, buti na lang they have free wifi so I took advantage of it.

These tired feet cannot lie and if only they can speak up and complain. Imagine what they will say :)

Our last stop before heading to my parent’s house last Saturday was Paseo de Sta. Rosa.

I always love driving to Paseo; this is next to my favorite open space strip shopping center, which is Bonifacio High Streets.

It is because the place don’t get crowded even on weekends, it is because you do not need to line up on resto if you want to dine, it is because ATM machines are readily available and it is because it houses mostly outlet stores :)

By the way, we went on purpose…lol! I was looking for a cocktail dress for my cousin’s wedding this April. I checked Debenhams and Marks & Spencer stocks but could not find any. I was hoping to score that little black dress I was eyeing at Debenhams over a year ago…hehehe. That seems to be impossible considering the shoppers every time they would run the Blue Cross sale. I went home feeling ill :( because I was not able to buy what I am looking for. I content myself with those discounted undergarments and digestives…sigh!

It is because Bea (or is it Oliver) was feeling stressed and hungry already, we went our way home. I have still three weeks to find a decent outfit for April 18…I hope to get a good bargain this time.

my say about Dong Bei Dumplings

Saturday after we got my cousin’s wedding gown at Divi, Oliver and I went ahead to Ongpin to have a very quick stomach relief. We were supposed to dine at Eng Bee Tin but later on gave Dong Bei Dumplings a try. I first learned of this hole-in-the-wall eatery from docgelo, who have strong recommendation of DBD dumplings.

Anyway, it is for me to find out yesterday.

Oliver and I were lost for a moment because we did not think that the windowpane was actually the main entrance. And it is because also at the façade, it is where the dumplings are freshly hand made.

There were about five tables that can seat four people each and a menu hung on the wall for everyone to see.

The wait staff handed us a menu and she was kind to answer all my inquiries about the food and the serving style.

She offered us the kuchay dumplings, which is not very new to me because we frequent Tasty Dumplings in Wilson St., Greenhills before (this branch was long closed). I have no doubt they have the freshest dumplings in downtown but could have improved better with extra filling.

Then we had an order of sotanghon soup with pork slices. It was okay since the noodle seems to be different from the one available at the supermarket but the soup was bland for me. I was hoping it tastes fresh broth.

Next on our set was the bean curd with pork stuffing. I enjoy this recipe; the freshness of the bean curd was there even if it was fried and sauced.

We had an order of fried rice to complete our set.

I will not be fair-minded if I would say they have the best recipes around Ongpin just because many bloggers do recommend Dong Bei Dumplings. I would just say that I am still partial to our favorite hole-in-the-wall eatery around Ongpin :)

prelude to Holy Week

We were supposed to drive north next week just in time for Holy Week but we have to cancel this trip for plenty of reasons – car tune up, need for new tires, construction of house in Ilocos, my wedding planning activity and a whole lot more!

Our Bea could have been so excited road tripping and hitting the beach. Okay maybe not this Holy Week but definitely we will be traveling anytime soon.

By the way, we are spending Holy Week with my family in Cavite and I will be busy going on with the details of my cousin’s wedding.

My office work is giving me a real hard time lately and mostly occupied twelve hours of my time, and my wedding planning side job is next to that chaotic schedule. I think giving in to my heart’s desire for a while is not bad at all. It is just a form of rewarding and pampering me.

So, I was back to online shopping for some time and this is what I got. A Tommy Hilfiger XL Shoppers Bag…sorry Honey but I really cannot afford to let this one pass, promise this will be the last loot for this quarter…lol!

I love it and I do not know until when, for now she is my favorite among my so-called collection :)

This day in between my true job, I went on with my wedding planning activity for Joel and Irish wedding.

It is because last Sunday, Irish told me to scout for invitation supplier because unfortunately the one she was saying did not become visible so I need to super rush the invites this time by hook or by crook before the Holy Week. Hay! After a few exchanges of email yesterday and several run of proof reading this afternoon, finally I booked the invites.

A Wedding in April...

Wedding planning usually is six months or so but this time I am doing this in 48 days. Why on earth did I accept a project like this? Everything would be rush, every decision would be vital and everything should be detailed.

The bride is none other than my maternal cousin, Irish who surprised everyone with the announcement. Anyway, this would be a fast moving preparations and I have little time to talk about the couple…hehehe, maybe not for now because I just met her fiancé, Joel last Thursday and there is not much to say yet.

I will be particular with the details of Irish and Joel’s wedding on this writing.

The wedding date is set on April 18, 2010 at 11:00am.

The church is Saint Gregory Parish Church, Poblacion, Indang, Cavite

The reception will be held at the Bride’s Residence, unless there would be last minute changes.

Mrs. Dempsey's Homecoming!

It was on Tuesday night when I met up and had dinner with my good friends, G, G and B at Café La Carmela. Another G missed the event and P was absent. It was not anybody’s birthday this time nor wasn’t it George post birthday treating to us. It was a homecoming dinner again.

It was before my good friend Rica went back to US when another good friend came home. It was like a year ago when I last saw her during her short visit to the Philippines. And it was nice seeing her again, finally the Irish wife!

Tata or Tating she is to us and for most of our colleague in the telecom industry. But way back in Ireland, she is Gen or Genny, which is more appropriate and girly.

A year ago after her grand wedding to her Irish fiancée, Gerry, Tating decided to give up her “amazing” telecom job and settled in Ireland with Gerry. It was a very tough decision considering she will be leaving her son, Gelo, and the rest of her family members. Maybe it was getting used to and her determination made her an instant hit to her Irish family. For somebody like her who is witty and charming I am not surprised if she easily won the hearts of her new found friends.

Going back to our sumptuous dinner, Tating was the one who called me if she could meet with us. Definitely, the answer is yesssss!. I arrived past seven at La Carmela and Tating was already there. Babu came ahead of me and I was thankful he made it. Simultaneously George and L came. Over dinner, we talked about Tating’s life overseas, the typical day, and her telecom work there. We partly share the hard life here, the one being underpaid… oh my! bitter! hehehe

Over dinner we had all fun story telling how it was from the last time we get together. We had a good laugh reminiscing those Piltel days, those younger days perhaps. This is what I always look forward, and just what I needed at times I feel low.

Thank you for the relaxing dinner Tating, you got the perfect timing. Thank you to Babu and George too for giving time. I hope to see you all again soon :)

Earlier this week I had the chance to dine out with good friends. It was one of the very few occasion, I should not miss for all I know. Though Makati is quite a little distant to my work place I didn’t kept my dinner dates waiting for long, let say I arrived just a little behind 7pm…sorry guys :)

Anyway, we agreed to meet at this resto in Jupiter named after the same hotel in Boracay, and partly owned by none other than Boy Abunda (showbiz na showbiz noh…hehehe).

The venue is named Café La Carmela, which is new to me because Oliver and I do not frequent going to Jupiter’s line up of eatery. So there stood Café La Carmela at the old Krocodile Grill location before it transferred to Greenbelt 3.

The place is cozy and perfect for small talks and meet ups. The interior is homey and classy but not intimidating at all. The wait staffs are attentive or maybe it is because the place is not crowded that night, or maybe it is because one of my friends spoke the same dialect, which is more comfortable for them. What probably confused me (a bit) are the set of food they offer. It is because before I left my office I browsed a bit of their table menu so I have a little idea of what to order. So all the while, I thought we are going to have Italian dishes for dinner…hehehe. My assumption was all wrong because we enjoyed an all-Filipino dish except for the appetizer, which is Japanese.

California Maki, we had two orders of these as appetizer. This one tastes like authentic unlike the one I had over the weekend, which I called substandard…lol!

Then we had Pork Sinigang as soup, they uses liempo with less string beans, less okra, less kangkong…in short, it’s literally soup though the sour taste was consistent.

Kare-kare ox tail missed the creamy paste. And again, with less veggies – no banana blossom this time.

Lechon Kawali is not at all crispy but was okay, and there goes the banana blossom! ginawang side dish (I miss capturing it on my cam), trying to be an atchara…

Pinakbet. This is the best dish we had that night, it came out heavily filled with veggies. Super appetizing!

Right after dinner, we head straight to their dessert station. They had pastries, cakes, and popular gelato flavors. Continue salivating here…

Tiramisu flavored gelato, which I failed to taste. Anyway, I am not a big fan of this gelato fad...I still prefer the real ice cream with its original flavors!

Chocolate Cake, which I failed to taste too because I enjoyed my plate TOO much...

Blueberry Cheesecake! And this is mine, mine alone…my love life with cheese continued with these slice. Though it is a little bit foamy, the taste is ultimate. I give a thumb up for this one!

We consume two hours over that small dinner; it was a wonderful one especially because we bonded more than the food we ate. Like what I always wish, I wish this to happen more often, I dearly wish!

Just when I thought I would spend another weekend without Oliver, he surprised me on Sunday before daybreak. Instead of spending another full day at Ilocos, he traveled back to Manila so we can spend Sunday together, sweet! Thank you Honey!

So Sunday we spent the whole day lazing around the house, sleeping, and channel surfing and playing with Bea. Before dusk, we made a short trip to Makati to check some materials at Ace Hardware. Then later on, we pig out some dimsums at SM and bought something inexpensive but tummy filling.

Over the weekend I did not spent too much time going online neither getting more sleep nor cooking or cleaning our small loft. This time I went out with my Nanay and Tita Gie. We went on a little thrift shopping at The Landmark, watched this Bea-John Lloyd movie “Miss You Like Crazy” at Glorietta 4 and,

ended our night with a sumptuous dinner at Outback. Everything was on Saturday, at least I could say it helped me for a while stop thinking about the week that passed – it was a momentary relief.

Anyway, it was a wonderful dinner so I am sharing it here.

Ribs on the Barbie – These fall-off-the-bone ribs are exactly the way ribs should be. Each half rack is seasoned and smoked to perfection, served with Aussie fries, coleslaw and baked beans. P499.00

Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo – Seasoned chicken and shrimp sautéed in olive oil and tossed with fresh herbs, fettuccine and a rich parmesan cream sauce. P369.00

I could not contain much so we skipped the sweet part, now I regret we should have tried their Chocolate Thunder from Down Under.

Suddenly, I lost someone I look up to, someone who sees the many faults in me, someone who made me tougher, and someone who thought me more of being independent. She will always be remembered and though the days ahead will be very hard for me I know she is true when she says she believes in me, she believes I can make it, that I can surpass all the challenges ahead.

Weekend is almost over and gladly I survived it without Oliver’s presence again. I surpassed the urged of my feet to go out and shop…lol! So how was my weekend? I did not blog anything at all but I spend a lot of time blog hopping. I was on facebook most of the time. I put a lot of items on my eBay’s watch list. I cooked. I organized. I shoot some. And played with Bea in betweens those doings.

My cooking on Saturday night, steamed tilapia and mango salad.

It was an appetizing dinner despite my status -- eating alone.

Earlier today, I organized our closet, which I seldom do…, hehehe.

Like what I usually do, I love to color code our tees before placing them on their respective cabinets.

All of a sudden I realized that we badly need a bigger storage for our clothes.

This afternoon, while channel surfing I shoot some.

I caught Bea trying to get hold of her flush toy, which I purposely hung over :)

Then she posed for Momi, I asked her to hide her tongue, which she obliged...cute di ba?

I know this is not the usual weekend for me, but I can happily conclude that I had a productive weekend this time.

Back home, I bought Tikoy for my relatives to tighten the family bond. The year of the Metal Tiger maybe another tough year for the Ox but eventually with hard work I know I can surpass and carry on.

After partying at my Lola’s house, we (L, Che, Arman, Oliver, Sam, Irish and Jheck) drove to Tagaytay ridge to chill out. Joel and Jena backed off because one of their girls was a little bit sick, so, they missed this night.

We were surprised that Tagaytay on a Saturday night was a little quite; it seems that people retired early or maybe they were out to somewhere else. Summit Ridge parking was not a blockbuster even and Starbucks had some unoccupied tables…something unusual for us. From Summit Ridge, we drove few kms and made our way to the east side of Maharlika Highway where restaurants, coffee shops, and a small tiangge were perfectly located.

I love Tagyatay’s cold breeze and the serene yet city life experience would always go far different from any other city. There is just something about Tagaytay, which may not be so visible but heartily felt. Remember this famous movie line? Our love is like the wind. I can’t see it, but I sure can feel it :)

Woof! I was carried away by the season of love and lovers….hehehe.

So where do we go?

There was no second option that night, we all decided for Junzi.

My family and I frequent this one resto for dim sums and of course for the live country and acoustic music. We discover this sometime in 2008 and eventually made our hang out every time we feel like lazing around.

At first, we drank like kolehiyalas and yuppies, evident again by the SMB Lights we consumed during the first 2 hours. We ate a lot this time, as if, we were not fed during the entire day…mga PG, lol!

After Manny’s second set (Manny is our old time favorite singer of Junzi), they ran out of stocks of our preferred bottled beer, so, leaving us no choice we migrated to a different mixture of the same beer company.

Gone was our kolehiyalas image this time…Che was saying “this time we are like government employees”. Pale Pilsen kase…hehehe.

Matching it with the red label Che says, “pang-construction worker ang dating”…we ended up laughing and I got busy with my cam.

My cousin, Irish was mending a busted heart and that night’s happening made her well, made her sleep better I guess. She was all lively passing on her requested song and singing it loud soon as Manny favored the song.

It was already 2am when we left Junzi; nobody did noticed that it was already Feb 14 then. Until we bumped to these showbiz personalities, we realized that it was Valentines Day.

Lola Ina's 88th B!

A day before Valentines Day, we (my maternal family) celebrated my Lola’s birthday. It was an afternoon of big laughs and delicious food. Like her big birthday last year, every family had their share.

My brother-in-law, Arman, also came up with his version of chili cheese sticks…Soya milk please!

I bought a Sansrival cake for Ina

and 2 liters of Tequila for the big boys.

and I think Uncle (Uncle Mike is my Nanay’s eldest brother) brought the chocolate roll, which was already on the tabletop when we arrived. So now, am I still missing something here? Tita Pearl! I wonder why she missed this event; we missed your neighborhood carioca too.

Though it is sad to remember that last year Ninang Elo was still here and we even celebrated this occasion at their house so she can party with us. Nevertheless, I am pretty sure she is happy to see us on occasions like this, she is happy that we continue the same family gathering the way it was like before. I miss you Ninang Elo, we all miss you…

Back to my Lola's birthday everyone party hard, drink all the way and this is the life I am missing because I am partially away from this family…sigh!

Finally, after 11 days of torment at the office because of the PASG issue I was able to loosen up with my office friends. Though it was long planned, it took a while for us to finally decide.

Our food preference earlier is to eat something healthy so my friend M could enjoy a day before her Saturday dialysis. At first, we were considering Italiannis for the healthy pasta and herb and spices concoct on every dish but eventually gave up and settle for Chili's!

Mr. and Mrs. Ebio's Homecoming

She is one of our friends who dearly remembers and never tend to forget, that is every time she is scheduled to spend a short vacay here in the Philippines. Even before her departure from California, she told me so about meeting us, about a mini get-together, about a simple dinner. I am deeply touched about her sincerity every now and then; she is the same girl, the same friend that left for US to fulfill her American dream.

She was tagged as "LG" for one obvious reason. Her being petite was modified and we felt calling her, “Little Girl” was perfect. Rica, Ma. Rica or Ricato to us also, was one of my colleague in a telecom company way back the 90’s. We became friends because of the organization we commonly joined for whatever reasons…lol! It is right to say today that we became closer even after the group was dispersed (dispersal was a long, long story). More so, we became part of each other lives when we became a little older, matured should I say. She was supposed to be member of my entourage during my wedding but she was too big to fit on her gown, she was on her 6mos pregnancy that time. By the way, I was Ninang of her first born, son, TP.

Rica was dear to me for so many reasons. I tell you, she isn’t just your ordinary girl.

Anyway, it was Rica and her husband Wally who treated us over dinner at Super Bowl last Thursday night.

They brought their adorable kids, TP and Vincent with them.

It was my second time to see my godson TP after four years.

Their kids were so fluent in Filipino even if they reside now in Cali, and way back there they speak the American language with a twang too…cool di ba? I told Rica and Wally to teach the kids speak their native “Bicolano” dialect too…coolest!

We spent dinner along with chitchats, how it’s like staying in Cali, how her job pays off a lot, how is Wally being “yayo” to their kids. Btw, her husband Wally is a CPA-Lawyer if you mind to ask. I salute his being supportive to Ma. Rica’s profession, a dialysis nurse. There was no idle time for us the entire night.

Their son TP liked Gem, we jokingly told Gem to apply as nanny for Rica’s kids.

George kept a good conversation with Wally while Rica and I talked about a little business on the side.

Oliver came in time after everyone bid good night, we offered a ride to Rica and family. It was past midnight when we reached their QC residence and again say goodbye one more time. Rica’s schedule departure is on Feb 19, I wished her a safe trip and to keep in contact once she reached California.

Again, thank you for the wonderful dinner and of course, for the leather token you gave. It was really appreciated :)

Thursday dinner was at Super Bowl of China at the 2nd Floor of Glorietta 4. L was with friends G and G again plus another friend with a postfix G on her tag name. It was a superb dinner I enjoyed from the appetizer up to the last dropped of my bottomless iced tea…burp!

Entrée was asparagus omelets and a piece of hotdog, which was left over at breakfast…hehehe

Anyway, we try to eat healthy this time aside from saving at least a hundred bucks a day. By the way, this is part of our 2010 goal.

When I was about 3 or 4 year old, one peso is my daily allowance from my parents. And my playmate then thought I was richer by a hundred with this single coin :)

Moreover, a fifty-centavo coin could buy a balikutsa or candy cane, which you could share to at least three friends.

I got many memories of these silver coins but these are for now…

I personally love bags, big bags to be exact. Why? It is because I want to carry all my things on it every time I am on the go, and maybe because it fits my personality as well, definitely you would agree :)

Aside from its big and roomy space, the brand and style is something I consider. Let say I go for the mid range brands of bags, those that is not too pricey yet I can attest on the sturdiness. Those that are not too formal neither too sporty; something I can use at the office or even during ordinary weekends. The color is something I am particular too, most of those bags I have comes in one tone only. No big logo, no big buttons or buckles and should have standard pockets and zip.

Still about Sunday, after paying our items at Debenhams Oliver and I went on to Glorietta to fill our empty stomach. He was a bit complaining already so I told him so that every time we shop eating wouldn’t be on my priority…hehehe. But then, I know he needs a little treat to satisfy his complaining innards.

I decided for Figaro Coffee Company to save on…lol! Remember the P500 GC I won from a blog promo, well, finally I made use of it. Thanks again to Fran for this wonderful treat.

Our set…

Oliver had 16oz Café Mocha P125.00 while I had an Iced Mocha of the same size, same price too. Of course, coffee is far from the aroma of Starbucks selection, which we frequent but was just right.

We had two orders of Smoked Farmer’s Ham Focaccia at P160++, this made Oliver’s day and completed mine too. The focaccia bread is fresh as well as the fillings, greens, ham and cheese. I felt eating healthy and all that.

Oliver always craves for something sweet, so, we decided for a Chocolate Coffee Muffin P55 to complete our set. The muffin was ordinary except that it is not too sweet for me, which is a perfect match of a brewed coffee.

That goes Sunday, our love affair with good buys and good food.

I want to try their Breakfast selection pretty soon :)

Blue Cross starts off

Driving to Makati always excites me; it really does :) maybe just because of my feeling at home to every corner of this city…lol! And consequent to this feeling is the discount shopping I always look forward during this months.

After Sunday brunch, Oliver and I head towards Ayala Center to check Debenhams sale. Did I tell you I was there last Tuesday before my date with G and G at G. However, the sale that time was at 50% only, and this is what I was waiting for, further markdown at 70%. Yes, Blue Cross Sale had started since Friday and I am a little bit late of two days by yesterday…sigh! Anyhow, I did not waste time upon our arrival I hurriedly check the item I got last Tues. The price drop to P660 from my buy price at P990 (original tag price is around 2 thou), oh my! It did disappoint me for a moment but not too long because my size was already out of hand then, so, I was still saved by my impulsiveness…hehehe.

Oliver and I shopped for ourselves this time. I got some Red Herring and Maine office pants for a real bargain price and some few undergarments while Oliver happily went home with his Mantaray pullover jackets.

It took us almost three hours before finally we went out of the store and head towards Figaro Glorietta for some light snack.

Then we’re off to SM to buy mattress for Che and for my father-in-law. Luckily, we scored a Buy One Take One promo and even made use of our SM Advantage points to purchase the mattresses.

I so love Sunday!

After the following exchanges of messages with my friend George a.k.a. Jojo over Yahoo! Messenger last Monday, I met him and another friend, Gem on Tuesday night.

I arrived ahead of time and had a quick time to shop at Debenhams before George arrived at Glorietta 4. Gem followed shortly. We initially thought of Talyer but later on decided for Gilligan’s. On a weekday, we did not expect a full house at Gilligan’s but we were surprised. We were on the waitlist so we decided Gerry’s Grill on the other end of the Glorietta 5. We arrived at Gerry’s with the same setting so we were clueless then where to dine and drink.

We were about to leave Glorietta 5 but then we passed at Guilly’s. The beer promo was inviting as well the simple and cozy interior of this restaurant. More so, it was not crowded and there were several tables unoccupied, so, with further adieu we stay on and immediately handed the menu.

Right away, George and Gem ordered for bottles of Strong Ice Beer while I had a bottomless iced tea. I suddenly remember my younger years when I can still compete with them drinking beer…kampai! Anyway, that was too long ago and I am choosing a clean and healthy lifestyle these days...lol! Let me go back to our orders, the first set we had were grilled and something veggie.

Nachos. Around P250++. The salsa is light yet just right for my taste. George loves this serving too.

Grilled Chicken Platter (Grilled Chicken, Chicken Kebab and Barbeque Chicken) P450++. I love the chicken kebab!

Vegetarian Delights (Tofu, Mushroom, Carrots, Bell Pepper). P200++ this one is appetizing.

We did not notice that we were eating too fast until it’s time for us to order our second set. It’s because we were enjoying a good chat over good food, the 80’s music and the accommodating wait staff who attended to all our requests.

The second set we enjoyed that night was pizza and sisig.

Hungarian Pizza. P230++ I promise to come back and try their Centennial Pizza soon, which is by the way Adobo topped.

Mixed Sisig (Pork and Chicken) P205++ It’s creamy and crunchy not because it’s all chicharon, one of our best orders that night.

Since these two friends of mine smoke, we requested to be transferred at their outdoor dining area and we were accommodate immediately. This kind is very seldom for us, a nearly perfect dining experience. Yehey!

After few more rounds of beer, Oliver joined us. We set aside there slices of pizza for him anyway…lol! And just before midnight, we bid each other good night. I did say thank you to George and Gem for the wonderful treat, it was so touching for them to come up with this idea. I felt very much loved by these friends and I loved them back.

healthy options

After my friend, M was diagnosed with kidney problem and other complications thereon I started to think a bit healthy. Maybe, a little afraid of being sick and hospitalized I became more conscious of what we eat.

After Sunday lunch with Nanay and Sam, I went my way to The Landmark’s Supermarket. I first checked the vegetable and fruits section.

Since I was thinking of green salad, I bought lettuce, cucumber and carrots. I have fresh fruits at home that could go well with this mixed. Then, I got two salad dressings, Mango Vinaigrette and my favorite Blue Cheese. I got tomatoes, bell pepper and cabbage too, which I will use on my soft taco recipe. I had another two plastics of Baguio beans, which I cooked together with the mixed veggies (corn, carrot and green peas) and quail eggs.

I spent two hours at the Supermarket trying to keep count some healthy options to our daily meals. What caught my attention was this stall where most items displayed were herbs and organic.

I bought energy bars, which will be good in between meals. Fruits and Nuts, and Almond and Apricot in Yoghurt. I also got an Organic Oat Slice.

It was good news for dieters and health conscious people like me…hehehe. Anyway, I will probably check some more items next week.

And my shopping bags went home with this sinful (?) hazelnut spread too. Sorry, I simply cannot resist...

Sam's choice

I woke up Sunday with Sam hi jacking my notebook again, doing FB as early as 8am. Today is Nanay and Sam's scheduled trip back to Cavite but before that, I treat them at lunch to Sam’s preference, of course. After giving Bea her brunch and a little wash up, we head our way to Makati.

We had lunch at Sam’s favorite eatery at the bridge way of The Landmark, which is another FB --The French Baker. I realized it was a good choice since it has been a while since I last dined at this Pinoy food retailer who recently won 2009 Most Outstanding Filipino Retailer – Food Category award.

As I have been telling even before my idea of the white based pasta should always be creamy, and I am glad FB is consistent on their recipe.

Our lunch earlier,

Nanay ordered the Creamy Seafood Pasta Linguini. Linguini tossed with calamari, fish, shrimp, and mussels in a creamy white sauce, served with your choice of grilled foccacia or garlic toast. It tasted good however; it seems the counter girl did not pay attention on what we ordered. We decided for the Linguini but do you see a flat noodle here? We did not complain and let this one pass today.

Sam ordered her favorite Hickory Spareribs. Juicy pork spareribs grilled in hickory-infused barbecue sauce. She says it’s far better from Conti’s American Grilled Ribs, which I favored from her FB’s choice. Anyway, kids like her would always love that sweet thing on the dish.

I love how they plate the buttered veggie on top of the steamed rice.

I ordered for Chicken Ala King, one of my old time favorite FB entrée.

Then Sam and I shared over an order of Mango Crepe. Missing Crazy Crepe!

Overall, we all enjoyed our lunch. Right after finishing lunch, I go along with Nanay and Sam at the bus stop. Shortly I bid goodbye to both of them and head my way to The Landmark’s Supermarket.

I arrived home thankful for the weekend that passed. Thank you to Nanay and Sam.

I asked my Nanay and Sam to join me over the weekend because Oliver went home to Ilocos to man over the construction of our farmhouse, lol! It’s my brother-in-law’s and not ours :)

Saturday bonding with Nanay and Sam was at downtown Manila. Our first stop was at a jewelry center in Ongpin, where I bought Nanay and Tatay a new wedding band. Their old wedding band had already retired long ago because it doesn’t fit them anymore, so, I thought of giving them a new one last Christmas. However, my gift did not make it on Christmas day, but I think it’s the thought that would always count.

Anyway, I haggle for the best price, as Ongpin is known for cheap jewelries. And if you would try buying one there, you should at least know something a bit of assessing which is genuine and which is faux.

I personally picked the design of this 18K gold wedding band. I decided for this classic one, which I think would best fit my parent’s personalities. I hope my Tatay would like it too!

After the Chinese owner gave in to my price, I paid and we walk towards Divisoria. We dropped by at Divine Mart and I scored a Gap tee overrun for kids.

Then at 168, I bought this storage box. It is like a less durable ottoman.

By the way, I received a smaller size of this storage box last Christmas from one of our Sales Manager.

Tired but in high spirits we arrived home past 8pm. There’s still Sunday!

What is a bechamel sauce?

That what makes my sister, Che’s bakemac appetizing last Tuesday night. Well, like I told you she is good cook like me….hehehe, and mostly loved to experiment on our kitchen.

So what made her béchamel sauce creamy? Fresh milk, butter, flour, all-purpose cream, parmesan and cheddar cheese. Constant whipping until it reaches the desired thickness is another hush-hush of this recipe. Warning! Do not overcook!

Thank you dear sister for the effort preparing this dinner, so, let’s talk about business, how much are we selling this? Lol!

Backlog: Reunion...

Two days after welcoming the New Year and our last day of the holiday break, we held a small reunion at my Lola’s compound in Alulod.

It was over lunch and meryenda, the usual we had chitchats and the boys draw together over bottles of alcohol bev.

It became a send-off get-together also for Michelle, Liit and Jacq, who went back to Singapore during the first week of January. Oh, you probably missing Pinas now cousins…the food, the celebrations, and a lot more.

Anyway, I heard your coming back girls in August. See you then! I am looking forward on spending another fun-filled summer with my most wanted cousins :)

Back to work now, deadlines are due…a blessed weekend everyone!

Sto. Nino's Feast

Sunday after partying at home the entire Saturday, it is Sto. Nino feast and we cannot skip this day even if we were drained and tired and exhausted…oh my!

We arrived at my Lola’s compound late afternoon and there again my maternal cousins were waiting for us. It seems we were the last family to arrive, ay di pala it’s Tita Pearl and Joyce.

It was another day of partying and drinking of course! Pardon me today, but I still have that hang over thing, let the photos speak. Take a sneak peek!

Thank You Note...

Oliver’s party went on last Saturday at my parent’s house in Cavite. It was such an accomplishment for both us, everyone who joined us went home pleased and drunk…lol!

Anyway, this post is to say thank you to all the people who made Saturday a memorable day for both us, especially to my husband who was celebrating his 40th birthday then.

Thank you to Nuestro’s Lechon for coming up with this mouth-watering roasted pork, the price was okay and worth it. I could not comment further because I hardly tasted this, but I am pretty sure it was a real winner!

Thank you to Enie, who staffed the chopping of the lechon. My officemate-kumare Cata made stunning remarks on how good the lechon was chopped to bits and pieces.

Thank you to Oliver’s nephews, Fudong and JLB who made it that day and to Kate, Fudong’s fiancée for coming over. Tito Tet was so happy to see you guys.

Thank you to my bestie Rackie who slept over, and for the wine of course; to Tita Pearl and Michael for the delivery of carioca on time; to Bevs and fiancée, it was nice meeting you again :)

I cannot name all who came, some were not so familiar faces but still Oliver, Bea and I extend our thank you to everyone. Oh, Bea got sick after the party but she is okay now :)

PS: I love this ice cream cake, which was one of the many rounds of cake we received last Saturday.

Birthday, Day Off

On the day of my birthday, I took a day off from work to avoid any unpleasant encounter….hehehe, and to bond with Oliver.

Our initial plan was to dine at Outback Steakhouse in Makati and used the GCs I won last year at Hit A Bargain! However, his work did not permit him to leave earlier so we skipped the steak lunch and decided to have late lunch at Glorietta 4 Food Choices instead. I think it was best that we chose Sizzling Seafoods that time since we have been eating meat mostly during the holidays.

Our set was Sinigang na Salmon Head sa Miso and Sizzling Plapla, the sour soup was just right for me who was nursing a bad cold then. It was a quick one. We waited for a while for my sister and then we drive towards Buendia to buy some bottles of wine at Harry’s for Saturday’s big event.

We battled the traffic going back to Mandaluyong to pick up Bea so we can bring her to Tiendesitas but we weren’t so lucky. It is nearly 8pm and still we haven’t yet reached Makati Avenue, so, we decided to reschedule Bea’s grooming to another date.

We concluded our day at The Powerplant Mall before going home, had a light meal at KFC this time and bought some supplies at the Supermarket.

By 9pm, the three of us (Oliver, Che and L) were already home. There was nothing big happened this day nor anything grand but I am happy I spend this day with the people I love.

Oh! By the way, let me share you my birthday gift to myself. The one thing I want long ago…a new sofa.

January 14, my day!

As I turned a year older today and I thank the Lord for this beautiful morning. I do not need any miracle to happen or a wish to be granted today, waking up with Oliver and Bea everyday are more than enough for me to be happy and even more thankful as I go my way.

What to look forward as I aged? To be more patient, to be more responsible, to be more resilient, overall to be a better person. I look forward on better opportunities at work, and more time to bond with my love ones. May the good Lord let me aged gracefully :)

I will not be having a celebration later or even on Saturday - its Oliver’s moment. Later today, we just planned to dine out and then check some wine shop and then bring Bea to Tiendesitas for her grooming session. I took a day off from work so I hope people at my office would be considerate enough to give me this day (no calls please!).

By the way, thank you to those who sent their greetings and are planning to send later :)
