on foot to Chinatown plus a windfall night out...

i missed to see them during the long holiday and even on my birthday because i chose not to have a splendid celebration this year. i let all those occasions passed and yet i know i have to see them once in a while and i thought a Chinatown feel will be very new for us...whatchathink?

last Saturday night Oliver and I invited Raks, Gem, and George to join us over exotic dinner at Estero, some chinese deli shopping and some feng shui advises from the experts (i guess?)...Raks and Gem seem to be first timer to Ongpin while George was relatively not new to the streets of downtown. It's because he was a Manila resident before, grew up and studied in old town Manila the most...while Oliver and I on the other hand spent most of our weekend walking to Ongpin and Juan Luna Sts. to savor the flavorful chinese cuisine.

we came just right! it's a day close to Chinese New Year and so Chinatown was fully painted with lanterns and ornaments along side streets, we took the liberty of taking photos..it was like turista sa sariling bayan to that effect. i am happy to see how the child on each of us was disclosed in a single night. you think we're through after our long walk? we plainly decided to sit and unwind at our Makati's haven --Talyer! we had a few drinks over their signature tokwa at baboy and some singing over David Powter's single and a whole lot of long talks about relationships (you see those 3 friends of mine are very much single...so what are you waiting for? bid for me! --shout out yan ni gem sa friendster nya). the night ended leaving us all high spirits (not because of the SMB we consumed) looking forward on our early summer escapades :)

posing with Eng Beetin's purple dragon...

L-R: Rak's, George and Gem while i was buying some charms behind them...

Gem don't eat squids literally...so the calamares do not seems so appealing to him? how about some froglegs??? fried froglegs! Rak's used to eat this wayback in Bataan during her younger years ( i had one, it taste like chicken..).

savoring the good food and good smell of Estero (saan ka pa, i spend less a thousand for this dinner)

it's very seldom that Oliver loves to shoot.. so we took this rare opportunity! say queso!

behind us is Minor Basilica of St. Lorenzo Ruiz...

at the newly redeveloped Plaza San Lorenzo Ruiz in Binondo district...just across Binondo Church, sabi nga ni Gem let's pose for Coke!

getting easy, loosen up and laid back at Talyer!

Tokwa't Baboy perfect pairing with a bottle of SMB lights...i miss this terribly!

ang pamatay na sawsawan..they forgot to give us garlic flakes!

George and Talyer's signature lamps...gloomy!

Gem belting David Powter's Bad Day! not a bad day duh! try mo na lang mag-Regine :)

Kampai! i almost forgot how SMB taste like until last Saturday night they made me drink :)

sweeties! in yellow and mandarin...will make good combi of fruit juice :)

Gem and the unwanted window frames...you see they have sliding windows now!

Arrivederci Amici! Grazie for the well spent night! A presto!
