Sunday at Tiendesitas.

Sunday, after lunch, Oliver and I decided to bring Bea in Pet Village, Tiendesitas for grooming. It was long overdue for Bea because Oliver keeps on skipping this routine for our big girl every week. You know Bea sleeps with us, so she needs to be clean and groomed regularly. She is our high maintenance ‘dogther’ and she loves that status in our family.

Though it was raining so hard, and had even thought of next time or maybe next week again, we went ahead before our initial plan would spoil. We brave the heavy downpour. We even came across the file of vehicle going to Ultra so instead of going ahead we decided to drop at the Purple Oven in Oranbo Drive, Pasig.

at #63 St. Peter Street

And got ourselves some freshly baked goodies. A Light Carrot Loaf and 6 pcs Chocolate Dipped Donuts.

i love this! just right!

Then went ahead to Frontera Drive, and left Bea in one of the grooming station. She was the biggest dog in the grooming station and everyone who passed by would comment like ‘Ang laki ng dog!’ After few minutes of waiting outside, Oliver and I decided to look around more so, to buy anything at the People Village to fill our stomach. On our way, we passed by at this Asian Kennel Union Club All Breeds Dog Show.

We stopped for a while to watch the event and later on moved back to the People Village and dined. We had Pinoy’s favorite meal during rainy season. None other than –Goto!

Goto daw?

But personally, I would not recommend their Goto, and the palabok I ate. Both dish were so tasteless, and would enjoy much eating goto in Lugawan sa Pasong Tamo and have the same set.

After an hour, we went back to check if our Bea is ready. She was having her coat blow dried. It took another 15minutes and finally Oliver got her out from the station. She smells good and fresh, and the kids wanted to pet her. She gives in naturally to kids who loves to touch her glossy coat.

We waited an hour for the rain to stop but seem we were not too lucky. We decided to drive home despite the situation. Bea was already tired too.

rain, rain go away!

It was a well spent weekend for us despite the bed weather, we had a great one. How was yours?

For Ana's little angel.

Friday night, after work, Cata, Jingky and I went to Medical City to visit our friend Ana. She was admitted last Wednesday night after an initial check up earlier that day. And the very reason why she had to be in that place, the baby she is carrying for 6mos suddenly stops breathing and later pronounced gone by her doctors. It was a very painful news for everyone who knew her. It was like our plans of having this baby shower soon will no longer happen. It was like something had stopped for Ana and her family, their expectation of a daughter in the family will not happen in October. I know this is not the time to say, it's going to be ok when in fact it's not ok. Things will move very slowly but I know eventually they would go to overcome this loss.

I am offering a single lit candle for Ana's baby, and pray for Ana's fast recovery.

Missing LU.

In such times when I want to shout and say STOP! I would suddenly miss LU. The serene atmosphere with its bustling waves, the clean shore, the happy people and the countryside lifestyle. It's all packed, and I couldn't wait to be back. And would love to spend a day or two just wandering at the beach and watch those surfers ride the waves.

Secret Recipe

Friday night, while tropical storm "Isang" was hitting the metropolis, Oliver and I went to Global City after work. It was the usual night out, dinner-coffee, and quest for a new hang-out. Though I already have this idea ahead of time on where to dine, I would always consider Oliver's preference.

Secret Recipe, which is located at the 5th and 32nd Street Global City, had been on my list of must-try restaurants; but we've been so occupied by KFC's original chicken for almost 2 straight weeks. SR had on-going promo which made us decide even more to try it, even when parking was a major problem that night. Guess what we had for dinner?

Oliver had this set of Pan Grilled Dory Fish while I had a Beef Lasagna set. Let me tell a little something about the service. Our dining experience went by a nice and neat table set up, and then ice lemon tea was served. We were asked about our choice of soup; Oliver had carrot and ginger while I had a pumpkin soup. I loved the taste of the pumpkin soup; the carrot and ginger was a little bland. Just before we finished our soup, Oliver's Dory Fish, Caribbean style with cream sauce, with herb butter rice was served. My Beef Lasagna followed, which was served with a home-made bun. I loved the cheese toppings and could have made it better if the pasta had few more layers. I enjoyed everything because I was not disappointed with the flyers, with the pictures on their website and from food reviews of course. What You See Is What You Get! Almost perfect!

You see, the set we ordered also had a Chocolate Mudcake for dessert. I was even asked if I want it to be served before I finished my pasta and they instantly did. I thought Oliver and I can still enjoy eating our piece of cake but sadly I had to ask the crew to wrap it and asked for our bill immediately. The reason why? This traffic enforcer in Global City steals a scene and wanted to swipe all vehicles that were street parked along 5th Street. What a shame to customers! My call to Fort Bonifacio Management: Provide your customers a decent parking space (not the one that will stock your vehicle in mud when it rains), if you do not want them to take the risk of street parking.

We ended up eating our piece of cake at home. It was delectable, but we could have enjoyed much if we had finished our dinner timely. I was even thinking of pairing our mudcake with a coffee serving. Oh well, we would definitely be back because Secret Recipe got a thumbs-up from Oliver.

If this writing interests you, check the promo flyer below: it's an on-going promo but forgot to ask the validity, cash basis only for these set guys.

Toyota, my ride.

Toyota, being one of the most admired cars-maker's of all time, had gone so much innovation since it was established during the late 1930's. From quality, service and design; Toyota had been a world leader. And I, being a Toyota customer and fanatic, is delighted about the experience of riding the versatile vehicle of it's genre.

on Chiffon, Ruffles, Tunic, Black --it's all Debenhams

I've read from my GT affiliates that it's the SALE month again. It's very tempting but I am controlling myself not too buy anything or not even visit any store where this sale are currently happening. Oh God! the sale items on Debenhams excites me everyday but I content myself browsing over their pretty tops online today. And this are my picks!

All dainty, All black!

By the way, Charles & Keith will start their sale today and I am not certain until when I can hold myself not to splurge on anything that is discounted and bargain :)

Ice Age 3 Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Oliver and I went in Power Plant Mall yesterday afternoon to watch Ice Age 3. For all you know, Oliver is a super BIG fan of this movie. And I was so happier to see him laughing out loud during the movie especially everytime Scrat (the squirrel) will appear on screen. Well, the kid in him suddenly went back over again even for an hour and half.

i love the reserved seats, who doesn't anyway?

Tokyo Tokyo dinner...

Last Saturday right after my workshop, Oliver and I went at Robinsons Pioneer to have an early dinner. Though I was so undecided again on where and what to eat, Oliver remained patient to give in to my tantrums. I don't exactly know what I want, I considered Max's, Mongolian Stop and Mr. Choi. Until finally, we decided for Tokyo Tokyo. It's been a while since we last dined at this japanese fastfood. I missed their red iced tea, and california maki. The set we ordered was Pork Tonkatsu Sumo Meal. It is actually good for two: breaded pork, steamed rice, yasai, red iced tea. I also ordered 1 Beef Ninja Wraps and 12pcs California Maki. That was my first time to taste the Ninja Wraps, and it was a disppointment. They use dough (bread like) instead of fresh pita wraps. The maki looks so good but were full enough to get a bite of this. We asked the crew to have it wrapped for us.

On our way home, I was remiscin' old Piltel days, old Tokyo Tokyo restaurant in Greenbelt 1 --we were regulars of this wayback late 90's. See how time flies? I am officially eating in Tokyo Tokyo for a decade now.

By the way, they have an on-going promo. It says you'll get 8-pc California Maki for 2 orders of Sumo Meal or Sumo Remix (single receipt purchase only).

However, if there will be no rains by month end we will push our Tagaytay trip for her. By that time too, my workshop is finished. I am looking forward on another day trip, and the kids too (Sam & Pao).

our 33rd Milo Marathon experience

yesterday was a different Sunday for us, it’s our debut to the biggest running event happening nationwide – the 33rd Milo Marathon. we were already awake few more minutes before 4:00am and were already driving to km zero by 4:30am. our 5k dash will officially starts by 5:30am so we need to be at the queuing area at least 15mins. we arrived earlier and were amazed on the big crowd of runners joining this event. people from all walks of life patiently wait --professionals, families, students, kids and dogs. so all the while we thought it would only be our Bea who would be joining the race, we were off beam.

3K and 10K runners

5K runners, the most numbered!

the running event by the way started at 4:30am for the 42km runners so at 5:30am the 10k batch goes first followed by the 3k all kiddies batch, then the 5k batch that made the big number of runners. Oliver run ahead of us with his team from P&G while Bea & i shortly followed with our jog and walk rhythm. most of the participants of the 5k run does the same rhythm we did basically because we are not after the medal or the cash or the fame – it’s all because of the fun walking with lotsa people, let me recall that this is a Fun Run so no big competition fellas! If anyone wants to compete, then join the 42k :)

Oliver finished the race within the 1hour time frame so he got his certificate while Bea and i half finished the race. Bea was such a crowd favorite, and lots of people took photo of her and some even pose with hers. she loves to be in limelight and her instant star status yesterday. i hope she will make it this year to the Great Dog Dash happening sometime in September.

Bea and Dadi after the race

posers as usual :)

we were about to go home when we bumped to this black lab we earlier seen at the race, seems he likes my girl...wink** wink**

flirting!

after battling with traffic for one and half hour we dined at Burger's King in MOA, and our Bea had a whooper sandwich and a scoop of ice cream. it was a weekend blast!

teaching her how eat ice cream

we are now looking forward in doing this running activity every Sunday, hopefully join the Globe Run for Home on July 19.

friday eat out

friday night was over some chinese cooking at our fave eating place, North Park of course! instead of dining at P. Guevarra St. or at the nearby Makati Ave branch we drive all the way to Fort Bonifacio, that's how picky we are :)

the set we have was the usual hotpot dish, spring rolls and double pork rib (which is new to our set). the double pork rib did not disappointment me except that i would prefer pairing it with a red vinegar instead of the thick sauce which was served to us. personally, i like the Market Market branch because of the ambiance and service. the crew would even greet you "ni hao" and say "xie xie" (pronounced as sheh sheh) after your savory dining experience.

i love the "push button to call server" stuff they put on table top

we thought of coffee after dinner so we walk towards Boni High but decided not to have one and decided to call the night and drive home. i took this photo because i felt serenity inspite of the city life we chose.

lovin' this life!

Happy Birthday Inday!

wella, wella, Inday is not anybody's househelper or errand girl. she is my Tita Bebot and Kuya Romy's unica hija --the prettiest of them all (of course!). and was named after a bath soap by her dear mama, remember Irish Spring? her name is Irish less the Spring...hehehe. and she is one of my maternal cousins whom I am close to up to this very day! Inday, ang kape namin sa katapusan :)

happy 25th birthday! and may you find happiness of the heart ... collect and select!

head turner yan! spinning pa :)
