Wai Ying Fastfood

apr 25 - we were supposed to have lunch at Wai Ying Fastfood last Sat but ended with dinner. earlier we went to the wake of Shello's (Henry's wifey) father in Veronica Chapel Pasay City..and it was like Shello was holding us to leave soon, she had a lot of stories these days and i really pity this girl. i only wish she gets peace and a happy family after his dad's cremation.

well, this post is supposed to be a food blog so let's start here --i had my first taste of Wai Ying sometime in 2005 when Oliver first brought me here and from then on we frequent this place for fresh and cheap dimsum and rice toppings too. normally we would get here on weekends when we are exhausted on pasta and pizza, home cooking and McDonald's. not to mention, this is our gateway to Divi shopping too...hehehe, we both love going to Divine Mart and 168 Mall. many times we have invited family and friends to try this fast food and they all went home satified too (i guess so??), Sam especially love their siomai and my old time favorite will be their steamed tafu and Oliver loves their hakaw...burp!

Steamed Rice with Spareribs, Steamed Tafu, Hakaw, Broccolli flower, Buchi

810 Benavidez St., Binondo, Manila

Price is so reasonable (dimsum order range from P40-60, and rice toppings is P110.00, they have whole order of roasted duck and suckling pig too). btw, aside from what we ate we asked the crew for Asado Pao and Shark's Fin Dumpling to go and we pay P570.00 all in. definitely be back again and again...try it!

make my day!

this paper bag made my day last Friday night, i even forgot that we should have dinner when Oliver allowed me to buy this piece...we left Rockwell with some baked pastries instead and i had this big smile as we drive home :)

about today...

today i had a long day, and this day isn't over yet...

i woke up past 6:30am and thank God for another day, had my usual routine --the 45 minutes bath (which Oliver had always complain), the morning breakfast (if there is an available one, lucky today i have some omelette...) and a short play with my Bea before i finally get dressed. Oliver dropped me to work around 9:00am and started my lengthy day with a twist of my emotions... even before i hit my bed last night i've been so thinking of something about work, perhaps more of the people i work with. i feel so betrayed and i feel so low, just when i thought everything is ok and smooth because of my being silent and patient --to date, i never used authority on them neither my being strict and hard. i've been so powerless when it comes to them and i never expect them either to God me...you know i am not this kind of sup who would love to be tagged as boss. i started small so i know how to vow my head and what's happening now is very disappointing for me. my expectations are all wrong, i should have trust less and use a little of my authority from the very start. i'd really want to spill what's on my mind at this moment but i would still keep it for now. it won't do any good to curse someone anyway...

enough of that ill feeling...i want to kill someone today, lol! i was expecting 3 boxes of Royce but unfortunately not even a single box had arrived...my sweet addiction will make me a murderer! hehehe...the good thing is Oliver had sold the car we are selling, yey! i had a good feedback from Nokia as well and Oliver and I would have good dinner later.

Lord, thank you for bringing the best in me everyday!

my sweet addiction!

well, am so addicted to this lately....what's your addiction??

a friend's homecoming...

my dear friend Tating went home from Ireland for a very short 3 week vacation just before holy week. i heard from her 2 days after her arrival and by then i'm off for a week long vacation with family so it was only last tuesday (apr 21) when i had the chance to see her. i met up with her at past 7pm, she came with my godson Gelo and she decided for Krocodile Grill at Greenbelt 3 to enjoy filipino cuisine of course...the three of us finished a whole serving of krispy pata over sinigang bangus belly and ginataang pinakbet. pretty obvious she missed this assortment of cooking...even told Tating i should have cooked adobo if she had said it earlier.

right after dinner we went to Classic Confections Greenbelt 5 for some sweet something. i asked her to try Nono's Chocolate Oblivion and she was all so happy and satisfied ...btw, i brought her 4 packs of hopia ube from Baker's Fair so she can bring it home to Ireland. i know it was a very short meet because she can't be home late this time, she is almost on her 3 mos pregnancy and i can't wait for her soon to be blue eyed baby :)

we had a very limited photo though was worth sharing...see you soon Tating!

Gelo is her eldest and my Godson --Zambales baby!

Susan Boyle...

finally after years i had the chance to attend mass at Greenbelt Chapel earlier, it's because i was around Ayala Center so i thought an hour will not take too much of my precious time. i was a regular of Greenbelt Chapel before --Wednesday Novena, Sunday Mass, first Friday of the month and even the anticipated Simbang Gabi. maybe because i like how the homily is served and the serene atmosphere inspite of its being located near shopping area, restos and coffee shops.

back to today's homily, it touched me a lot and i was all teary when they played this video of a 47yo woman who tried her luck at Britains Got Talent 2009. she was no extraordinary yet full of confidence and that maybe because she trust her good heart...which eventually made Simon "YES" to her. Susan Boyle joined the talent search because she knows she can do something, she never doubted that she can make it...and humbly deliver her piece Cry me a River from Les Miserables. It was an amazing performance!

Father Jun said today, "TRUST is the antidote of DOUBT" and i believe him very well. Amen.

my weekend loot...

well, i'm back from Makati and check out my loot...

2 unbranded boxers shorts from The Landmark, P79.75 each
1 OP knit beach short from Woman, P295.00
1 Old Navy strappy nightdress from Surplus Shop, P249.75

oh, and i got some small items too - Goody barrettes, hair ornament and 4 pcs Nichido triangular sponge for my Mary Kay liquid foundation. btw, i went back to Debenhams hoping that the summer sale will extend further discount and more items. unfortunately it seems they are just clearing their old stocks and last few pieces. at The Landmark, i found something from Sogo --it's a 3 pc swimwear, bikini top, bikini bottom and a cover up for P1,119.00. i was a little hesitant to buy it at instant and i was thinking i might find something better within the week.

i most probably be back to Makati either Tuesday or Wednesday :)

Wordless Sunday...

it's all me the whole weekend, and my wonderful Bea. Oliver went to Ilocos last friday night and i need to stay this time...it's too expensive to travel back and forth. anyway, all saturday was spent doing household chores. in the morning, i cooked our (Bea and mine of course) food for the entire day --paksiw na bangus with ampalaya and patola with misua. then i cleaned all Bea's bits and pieces, and ended up brushing the floorboards. after my afternoon nap, i washed all our laundry since we do not have any trusted laundry house yet after Cleaners shut operation last feb. whew! i hardly can't remember the last time i touched our laundry...in between those activity i would connect to the net to check my online accounts including this blogging thing and my stress reliever ebay shopping! hehehe...hey, i will be going out for a walk this afternoon. have a blessed sunday everyone :)

Debenhams Summer Spectacular Sale!

continued apr 17 --departing from Megatent Oliver suggested that i should go to Makati instead and check for Debenhams sale. he knows i feel so low after being disappointed and all that at the BOS..sigh! this time, i was hoping i could take home something...

cut-off price was 50% only on selected items, i tried some bikini top but they don't look good to me though prices were so tempting (P475 bikini top only, and they have P695.00/2 pcs choice of both top or both bottom). i was delighted to see this little black dress on sale now, i've seen this before as a new arrival item during the Bluecross Sale. anyway, i was fortunate to find my size still available and finally fit it! fit it then put back the item to it's hanger...why so? the price tag is a bit expensive, i was thinking it's around P1,000 only but it's not, it's double :(

i am thinking of going back tomorrow...oops what i mean is later, will check for some more items on sale.

Debenhams Summer Spectacular Sale

i wasn't able to take it home, content myself with pics of me wearing it :)

at the Big Outlet Sale 2009...

friday (apr 17) --yes, i made it during the first day of the Big Outlet Sale at Megatent Ortigas Center. the night before the sale i was bugging Oliver that we go halfday from work so we can check the sale since he was scheduled to be home to ilocos during the weekend. as usual, he cannot say yes and it breaks my heart to take no for an answer...hehehe, eventually the following morning he offered to pick me up by 1pm at Greenhills so we can both go at the BOS, yey!

it was so so hot! that was my first complain after arriving at Megatent unlike last year ventillation was all right. secondly, the shops were like those stalls you'll see in Greenhills --again last year it was organized. and to my biggest disappointment i did not see any Debenhams item, even those items from Marks & Spencer did not catch my attention (i've seen them hung at their MOA outlet earlier this month during the 3-day sale). i was really hoping i could score a nice bikini top but i ended up with some Canopy item (kitchen sets, ill post pic next time).

for some reason, my being bulky is a bit expensive...lol! why did i say so? Chocolate Clothing was selling Grab jeans for P750 only but they are not size, as well as Giordano...i feel sick! hehehe...

flavor of Classic Savory...

i used to see this Savory signage at Escolta even during my younger years when Nanay would always ask me to accompany her to Divisoria, since it's very hard to stop over at the foot of the bridge we never had the chance to dine here aside from our preference for lunch would always be Jollibee back then. funny but it was only last december when i had my first taste of this savory chicken at glorietta 4 when Oliver & i ran out of place to dine... we ordered for a salo meal --half chicken, choice of side dish, plain or java rice and fried banana, all in for P299.00. what i love most is their serving of gravy!

today, Savory Chicken had expanded commonly in malls which makes it readily accessible and convenient to it's customers. their SM Hypermart branch in Tiendesitas is one good place to dine.

tender, juicy and tasty!

Zanne's Bday!

apr 14 - tuesday lunch was celebrated for Zanne's post birthday mini-party (which falls on Easter Sunday this year). as customary, we would chip in to buy something that everyone could share and this time a good and tasty lunch was enjoyed. i especially love the beef morcon! oh so tender and appetizing!

i wonder how many graduates and RN's will soon apply for work abroad, tsk, tsk...our government should take this issue seriously by now --we are loosing a lot of good people in the medical field...poor Pinas :(

manila autoshow 2009

part of my late post --this actually was before holy week when we went to the biggest motoring event of the year, the Manila International Auto Show 2009 Passion for Performance at the World Trade Center organized by Worldbex Services International. the event started last apr 2 and it was the last day of the exhibit when we went there last, last sunday which is apr 5. the show highlights the car of the year, luxury cars and wagons (i heart that red Jaguar XF and white Dodge Journey!), oil and lubricants, sound systems and aftermarket parts & accessories. it was all crowded by motorist and car enthusiast...

well, entrance fee was at P50/pax and souvenir cap is sold at P150.00 and polo shirt at P200.00

MIAS is on it's 5th straight year so far so hope to be part of this show again next year :)

matabungkay get-away!

maundy thursday and good friday was all spent at home to go on hunger strike no uh hmm what i mean is abstain a bit..hehehe then come blalck saturday we hit Batangas road to enjoy the sand. good thing that almost everyone was available even we never had any long time planning and preparation for this. btw, this trip was enjoyed with my maternal cousins whom i grew up spending summer at our lola's house in Limbon. i suddenly miss those days when our families would camp after school is over and now that some of us have our own families i think we should bond more often so we can pass the same family values to our younger generation.

well, about last Saturday trip --we just brought a box of beer and freshly baked pandesal for the day --oh and a little of raw meat, fish and hotdogs for lunch! while Lian Batangas is approximately an hour drive from Indang, travel time was all spent on chitchats and sight seeing of Tagaytay ridge all down to Batangas. we decided to try Matabungkay shoreline and rent out a raft (rental fee is P2000.00). the kids enjoyed the water and we young adult..ehem! enjoyed the solidarity of being a family, it was indeed a day!

semana santa...

it's the 3rd day of holy week and still i am working at my cube, i wonder if our bosses will finally dismiss us early today --one wishful thinking, huh! anyway, holy week is another long weekend for me and i hope to spend it meaningful with family and friends this time while the past 2 years was spent beach hopping, unending road trips and instead of fasting we splurged on so much delicacies from one town to another. now, that we decided to spend semana santa upland, we plan to do the traditional visita iglesia, fasting of course and a lot of silence :)

i'm off in an hour and will be home to cavite by dawn tomorrow with Oli, Bea and Shen --hopefully will be at Tagaytay before day break.

have a meaningful weekend everyone!
