TY!

Before daylight I want to thank the Lord for all the blessings he had showered us (Oliver and me), though we keep on skipping Sunday obligation I know how much you love us and you never fail to take care of us every time we are on the road. Thank you for our wonderful Bea, for making her healthy and happy everyday. Thank you for the food we always enjoy on our table. Thank you for keeping our family safe from harm. Lord, I know you have special plans for me, for us, for everyone...be it done according to your word.

newest baby is "Kit"

As we walked from Ongpin to Quiapo, I cannot contain my excitement. It is because our last stop would be at Hidalgo :)

So this is it! I am wordless; let the photos speak up.

Mang Ramon of Mayer’s did not disappointment any of our expectations, so, we went home this box.

The box contains happiness (an expensive happiness…hehehe)

And after months of contemplating, and giving up the Ideapad and Cebu trip I had on my head, finally she came --

“She” is such a winner; she will be “Kit” for Oliver and me from this day on.

Let me try it now folks!

On the days ahead, she would be joining us on our road trips and occasions and I hope she would be friendly on us to teach the skill.

Merry Christmas Honey!

Tasty lunch

Saturday lunch was at Tasty Dumplings in Ongpin. It was a very quick one since Oliver and I needed to buy those Chinese lanterns I canvassed last Sunday for our company’s Christmas party.

Tasty Dumplings was not new to us, there used to be a branch in Greenhills, which we frequent before, so, I had an idea of what to order.

On our table -

Spareribs Rice P90. I was thinking of how good Le Ching’s spareribs rice was but Tasty Dumplings version wasn’t special at all.

Beef Noodle (Tossed) P105. I would try the bihon next time however this one not really my preference but was dragged to order instantly because of our hunger...sigh!

Kuchay Dumplings P70. It is necessary for me to eat dumplings every time we dined in a Chinese restaurant, so this one could pass a grade from me :)

Food is okay lang, definitely nothing so remarkable about this dining event.

Be excited like me on my next post...

Are you tough enough?

Last night’s dinner was at Army Navy Glorietta 5. It was not planned but I suddenly missed my family and the closer I can think was our last dining event at Tagaytay.

The usual favorite was the soft taco (chicken); I can finish all three in one sitting with soda on the side.

Anyway, here’s the sneak peek :)

Soft taco (chicken) P125.00. Three small soft flour tortillas filled with meat, onions and cilantro. Served with salsa and a slice of lime.

Oliver and I were tempted to order their burgers so we have --

BULLY BOY BURGER P235.
Triple quarter-pound beef patties. (Made Big to Beef Up a Battalion)

BURGER Classic P135.00 Single quarter-pound beef fatty.

Both burgers came so delicious and filling. However, it was a little bit messy for Oliver to eat his Bully Burger.

I was planning to add on chicken burrito but I realized that my to go order from Sbarro need enough room by the time we got home.

Army Navy may be a new player but its goodness is very prominent and the spicy taste will be frequent :)

this is it! Heaven 'N Eggs

Yesterday my sister, Che and I get by at Makati for dinner that was after she promised to pay for the entire meal. We decided for Heaven 'N Eggs at Glorietta 4 over Contis, it is because I haven’t tried H&E for the longest time it stood there. Since it is just past 6pm, there were a small number of diners so we instantly got a fancy seat. The wait staff handed us the menu and oh my! I had a real hard time getting a good set. I cannot come up with a good combination of our orders so I left everything to my sister since she is a frequent diner here.

On our table - The Seafood Basket P325. calamares, fish fillet and shrimps breaded and deep fried served with cocktail and lemon sauce. I love this appetizer, the frying was perfect and the potato string was new to my eyes.

Shrimp Pasta in Saffron Cream Sauce P345. sauted shrimps and mushrooms in creamy saffron sauce with shaved parmesan served with garlic toast. Despite its good taste because of the shrimps, it didn’t pass my criteria of a cream based pasta. For me it should be a little creamier, anyway it was my preference only :)

Strawberry and Banana Cheesecake Stack to share P295.00. graham and banana pancake topped with whipped cream, cheese, strawberries, walnuts and powdered sugar. I am a forever fan of breakfast so we did not skip ordering this pancake. weee!

Overall, it was a wonderful H&E experience even if we pass over the set of choices, which comes with eggs. Thank you dear sister for the heavenly dinner and I look forward on giving H&E a second visit soon.

After H&E, we decided to see 2012 at Glorietta 4 Cinemas… the only thing I can say is I felt hungry again after seeing how the world would end by 2012. I think it’s time to start saving the 1.0 billion euro, oh, we need 3.0 billion euro for a 3 seat and green boarding pass to this space shuttle…lol!

an Invitation...

Ocampo-Dinglasan wedding invite

We received this invite during my aunt’s visit (father side) last Nov 1. My cousin is getting married soon and everyone in the family was invited. As I told you, I am partly excited and undecided about attending. Anyway, we still have until Monday to confirm our attendance since they require an RSVP from guest.

at CEL MANILA 2009

Aside from our Pacquaio-Cotto date last Sunday, we were at The World Trade Center for the last day of CEL MANILA 2009 (Consumer Electronics Manila).

Oliver and I had pre-registration to this event but our Pacman stomp gave us easy access. We were eyeing a “new toy” and were hoping to get a good deal but the sale price is very high from my last canvass online, so, we were not able to bring home the item then.

Despite these turn around Oliver and I spend our time looking around from LCD TV’s, sound system set-ups, computers and peripherals, newest gadgets, mobile phones, and cars. The latter caught our interest the most; I am beginning to be a fan of car exhibit too.

And this big truck is definitely Oliver and I wanted so soon. Maybe we could skip dining out and (my) lavish shopping for a year to save for 2011…lol!

Anyways, we should really save and that’s it says Oliver.

After an hour of getting around at WTC we drove to Makati before going home, this time I let Oliver decide on where and what to eat so we could go on quickly. He chose Aveneto Pizzeria Ristorante and we had an order of pasta and pizza for early dinner.

On our table - 14” Seafood Special Pizza P340.00 – I love the idea of shrimps on pizza, it’s perfect but the squids is a little so so for my taste.

Baked Ziti with meatballs P275.00 – there is nothing so special about this pasta dish aside from its big serving.

Overall, Oliver’s choice was not a good one, sorry Honey :) maybe I was not on the mood to eat Italian last Sunday. It is like our
Amici experience, which he did not enjoy much. Satisfied or not, thank you Lord for the beautiful Sunday we had.

Pacquiao's winning...

Sunday (Philippines) marked the Pacquiao-Cotto fight. Oliver and I were fortunate to grab a ticket from an online promo days before the big day. I was unable to capture a photo of our official ticket, which Oliver picked up from Summit Media. Nevertheless, I got a ton full of photos to keep for this event alone.

Well, the boxing match was a long 12 rounds compared to that Pacquiao-Hatton Superfight, which was held last May. Our Pacman was confident all through the game despite the many critics he had from boxing analyst. He showed them power as he dominates and finishes the game with a victory and a new belt. Manny Pacquiao is phenomenon as he is the first boxer to win seven titles in seven different weight divisions. And I am proud of him, and everyone should :)

This is what I got from the Pacquiao-Cotto live feed at The World Trade Center.

Before the main fight, there were several matches up and WTC Hall was already packed with viewers supporting our “Pambansang Kamao”.

So just before the Pacquiao-Cotto, officially starts, Oliver and I gamely posed at the photo wall with these sexy models.

I picked some photos highlighting Manny the most before and after the game. He captivates the heart of the crowd at Las Vegas as he overpowers Cotto.

And we could not contain our happiness as the game ended; it was a very good one for all the Filipinos. Thank you for bringing pride and glory to our nation. We all salute you Manny!

First timers at BGS

Saturday after Oliver’s running activity, we went our way to Meycauayan for the last day of The Big Garment Sale. It was our first time to attend this sale and haggle for the best brands at bargain price. It was so nice of the organizers to extend their membership again through their Facebook account. And I found myself lucky to have been invited to this grand sale. Yey!

This year ender sale happened last November 11-14, 2009 at Sterling Industrial Park (Blk. 4 Lot 3 Acefree St. Sterling Ind’l Park, Iba, Meycauayan City ). And was open from 8am to 6pm, guest need not to go out for lunch or snack because the organizers prepared a simple serving. It’s their small way of showing how they value their members, a simple treat aside from the cut-off price, which everyone enjoyed.

Oliver and I spent almost 3 hours picking items for ourselves and some will be gifts for the coming Christmas. I exhausted all my energy getting the best deal of Old Navy items, American Rag, BCBG and RL.

our loot...

This trip is really worth our time and I promise myself to come on the first day soon as they announce the next sale schedule. I can't help but love thrift shopping!

After a not so lavish shopping at Bulacan, we took a side trip to Ongpin. I need to canvass some materials for our incoming Christmas party at the office.

sharksfin dumpling and "hakaw"

And since we were already there, we did not let the chance passed by, we had dinner at Wai Ying. I know I could never go wrong with the flavorful Chinese cuisine; it would always satisfy my picky mood.

Makati date with Oliver

Following my dinner with office friends at Greenhills, Oliver and I spent some time before going home. We drove towards Makati and walked from 6750 parking to Glorietta 5. Since we no longer frequent Makati shops, I asked Oliver if we could check some items at the upper level before dining. We did and I spotted a nice ballet flats at Artworks. It was on sale so after getting my size, I paid and left (tempted to get another pair...hehehe).

We chose Luk Yuen over North Park this time. Feeling overstuffed from an earlier dinner I was nibbling from Oliver’s plate. He had a bowl full of Hongkong style noodles, and two different dimsums.

Seafood Roll Wrapped in Japanese Seaweed and Shanghai Bun

King Dao Pork Noodle

I missed eating seafood roll but I could no longer contain so much, so, I settled for a piece and savor the hot soup of Oliver’s noodles. By 1am, we got our bill and went our way home. We decided to skip the coffee date and set it for next week.

It may not be the best Friday of my life but will always be one to be remembered :)
